The Fruit Basket of Love

Silent and still, a basket of joy,
A basket of love, colorful and cute,
As two pineapples decide to fall in love,
In a basket of fruit.

Their love is on a road to nowhere,
Because tonight is the dinner feast,
Remembering their moments in the basket,
Their togetherness will finally cease.

The family gathers around,
Prayers and vows said to each other,
The family sits down,
Peacefully looking at another.

The father makes a toast,
To all the food given by god,
And to the person he loves the most,
Smirking and smiling she gives a nod.

The basket of fruit is placed on the table,
Shaking in fear, waiting all night,
They prepare for the worst,
As two pineapples tremble in fright.

*Two hands slowly reach into the basket*

Their friend the coconut doesn't think twice,
Takes a leap of fate to the above,
The ultimate sacrifice,
Only in the fruit basket of love...
