His sadness was guilt

by Elynnka   May 26, 2005

A man was standing alone… so calm,
He was waiting for the arrival of dawn.
That night was so dark and hollow,
Just like a monument of eternal sorrow…

He lit a candle to enlighten his path
And remember all the times in which he laughed
At others stupid mistakes and their phoniness,
The ones form whom he ran away, now living in loneliness…

He chose to live alone in a forsaken little place,
Where the night’s shadows play on his pale face
And he’s only “friend” is his mind
For there was nothing else there to find…

Sometimes he wished he never had to leave,
But the sadness provoked by the ones that deceive
Was stronger than any other of his needs,
So now he lives here, where his heart never bleeds…

It was in that night when the wind put out the candle’s flame
And that was when he realized that all’s the same;
He was still sad, even in that place… he wondered why,
But couldn’t find an answer so he started to cry…

In reality, his sadness was blooming from deep within
And was “born” there from his every sin,
So he must forgive himself, for that is the only way
To get out of that sadness that darkens him each day…
