A year of wonders

by Se Lest   May 27, 2005

A better season will follow this
in returning and rest
you shall be saved
and break away
in quietness and trust
it shall be your strength

Letting the words sink
to a whisper
a year of wonders
is left begin in this plague

the simple minded driven by anger so
the strong put to rest as to one
she remains
and when two children fall from her
she cries for her own sake
she lays in bed at night
wondering what she did
to deserve this

fighting a drunk father
her step mom goes insane
chaining her children to the wall
to revive the one so close
she bares this child
in her arms for days and days

shes holding me
following through the water
shes breaking away
from the plague now.
never into the shallow
i'm coming back home to my sense's
I'm getting set free and. ..

Now
yesterday is all so vague
the blood and horror and fear
I'm facing against my life
and yet I'm not
so deep in this shallow water
i can barely feel you close to me
and yet so far away
