Death Row

by Lyla   May 27, 2005

I see the damned,
the garbage of the world,
the black-hearted people who no longer feel any emotion in their concrete bodies.
They are the ones we never see and try to forget exist.
Their cold feet feel hard on my face as they walk,
the last walk they will ever take.
I can feel the weight of their full stomachs from their last meal.
I can sense their cold heartless thoughts.
They walk on me in their last few seconds of their rootless existence.
I am cold, damp and dark like so many things on this earth.
I see the things the rest of the world wishes to forget,
but I can’t forget.
I try, God help me I try but the world is much too cruel to let me.
I continue to lie silent but with so many things to say.
I don’t think people are ready to hear what I have to say.
I see the darkest things in this world that other people know of only in their nightmares.
I see the creatures that have come out of the depths of hell to wreak havoc on the world.
It is my job to send them on the road back to Satan but they’ll be back.
The vicious cycle of life, murder and death never ends.
