Waiting (abstaining)

by Ivan Thomas   May 28, 2005

My body always says it's time,
But for four more years it's a crime.

Not until someday
Will we together lay.

Right now I want you bad;
And it makes me so sad.

Not until someday
Will we together lay.

Your tongue, your kiss, and your lips:
They're fun, they persist, they rip.

Not until someday
Will we together lay.

Yes, they rip at my eyes
And I know they're not lies.

Not until someday
Will we together lay.

Yes, I know, I'll know, & I've known,
But I've tasted what I've reaped and I've sown.

Not until someday
Will we together lay.

Someday is too far
if it were even tonight.
I'm blinded and scarred,
Do I even see the light?
(Yes, but it's bright)

I'm sure that someday
We will together lay.
