If You Were Not You

by Eden   May 29, 2005

Something is missing in the air...
Something is wrong...I'm fully aware.
Some blowing wind in a vacant land...
Some dirt within a pure white sand.
In all things I have to see...
Why not just let me be me?
Only fools seek to put and end
To the mournful angelic song I send.
Now I'm fading in my heart...
Now I'm wading in mystery's start.
Staring ahead at nothing at all...
Silently, I hear darkness call.
Poetry in words is never really known...
Poetry from the heart is what's grown.
But all of this fades with time...
You are hear just reading my rhyme.

Can you honestly feel what I've felt?
Can you touch the course skin...and kneel how I've knelt?
Can you truly see through my eyes...
Could you truly see past man's lies...
Vacant wind in a blessed land...
Purified dirt in a blackened sand...
Things are not always as they seem...
For in every heart...lies the way to redeem.
