I Saw Many Things

by Eden   May 29, 2005

I watched you die...
You just laid there...asking why...
Now I fel nothing...I'm bereft of my senses...
You were left hanging in near death suspense.

I watched you curl...
Hunched over like a dead girl...
Decrepit and changed to a bloodcurdling tangle...
So strange to see you in this reflective angle...

I watched you change...
As through your hurts...you sought to estrange.
Fingernails bent to soak up the floor...
And still here I stand, blocking the light from the door.

I watched...as you took your last breath...
I did nothing to save you from death.
You bade me stay and watch in silence...
As I did watch you commit suicidal violence.

You cared not for what I felt...
You didn't think of how I'd melt.
You cast down my love for you...thought it unreal...
Now I move to touch you...cold's what I feel.

I loved you in life...
Now I love you in death.
Nothing was more exotic than your breath.
Now you are crumpled up in the floor...
It was a dream...I didn't want to endure.

But now I know that you are gone...
My sun has turned black...I've forsaken the dawn.
I kneel here beside you...I close your staring eyes...
Put my head to your chest as I shake silently with sighs...

You left me alone in this cruel living world...
Left me...my love away you hurled...
I watched as you died....
Now in hell, you can hear how I cried.

I saw many things...
But never your pain...
...Never saw the links of this chain.
I saw many things...I wish to forget...
Now I have more pain and regret.
