Race to the phone to see if you called.
Race to the computer to see if you sent an e-mail.
Race to the mailbox to see if you sent a letter.
Hold my breath when I hear the phone ring.
Close my eyes when I here "You've got mail".
Jump up when I hear the mailman.
Think someone must me on your phone.
Tell myself you'll e-mail me soon.
Think they must have lost your letter.
I do all of these things because of you, but after so long things change.
Don't care if you did or didn't call.
Check my e-mail less and less.
Let someone else get the mail.
Yell at the phone to stop ringing.
Hate the voice that says "You've got mail".
Fall down into a chair when I hear the mailman.
I waited so long for something, anything, now I don't care.
*This poem is just really about having to move on. Because sometimes you have to tell your self that it time to get over someone you've loved.
