I can offer a thousand words,
Try to make each one ring in importance.
I could hold you softly in my arms,
Speak them tenderly one by one,
But I wonder,
Would each one mean the same?
Mean anything?

I could sing beautifully,
Let each note soar around you…
Words of love, and comfort,
Holding your hand softly,
But I wonder,
Would each note mean the same?
Mean anything?

I can write,
A simple attempt of a poem,
Like this.
And I’d wonder just the same,
Would each stanza mean the same?
Mean anything?

I’d pray,
If I knew a god worth praying too,
That these next three words meant something,
Meant anything…
So I say this to you Tracie.

and I know that means something,
everything to me.
