The rules of love
Can somebody tell me
What they consist of?
Is it OK to love
And not be loved back
Do you have to open your soul
Or giving your soul
No you should never do anything like that
Do you have to be happy
Just about at all times
Or can you be sad
Or being in love
Means never being mad?
What are the rules of love
Why can't I see
What does it take to be happy
Can somebody tell me
Can you love somebody
Who has never loved you back
Or can you possibly think
Of everything from them you never had
Sometimes I wonder
If love can be true
Or if in this lifetime
I will ever love somebody
Somebody like you?
If I can wake up each day
And not worry of you leaving
If I can go to sleep each night
Knowing of you I'll be dreaming
So I ask again what does it take?
To feel that feeling
That feeling of hopelessness
That feeling of happiness
that feeling I get when I look into the eyes of the one that I love.
