The perfect horse

by cowgirlstar26   May 31, 2005

I saw her dark Grey head
as she looked at me and by her groom was led.
there was a glimmer in her eyes
and her unfaultered beauty made me sigh.
she was in perfect rhythm as she flew
there was a shriek from the stands , and then I knew....
this once beautiful creature now twisted and torn,
had died from running for which she was born.
tears filled my eyes as her lifeless body was dragged away
how could this have happened? the crowd soon would say.
this beautiful creature had won her race
but because of a lust for money no one would ever again see her face.
I went to the blue room which she had been contained and now just her bridle remained.

I like the no stanzas. reminds me of ee cummings. very sad though but accurately shows humans cruelty just for money..

Wow thats pretty sad. Like the other poem, theres two subjects in one line and put it in stanzas. But overall it was a very good poem! 5/5
