The Rose

by Chad   May 31, 2005

The rose, blown around by the piercing wind.
Wind, unrelenting and unforgiving.
The rose, pounded on by the rain.
Rain, twisted and oblivious.
The rose, scorched by the genial sun.
Sun, benign and foolish.
The rose just on the verge of budding.
Steeped on and trampled by the wicked animals.
The rose, whithering into nothing.
The last petal drops.
The rose falls...

More beautiful imagery in this poem that let me take an interesting lesson from it. Rose imagery is common so it is hard to use it well, and I think you did a rather good job with it.

I'm not sure what to say...It's rather good though. So many things could be replaced as the rose...meaning, how we often feel. Another good job my dear Chad.

Eh...again,you pick topics that are a bit cliche...like a rose.the poem was a bit repetitous also, with all of the

    "the rose"
and just the word 'the' in general.
