Till Death Do Us Part

by Amber   May 31, 2005

Fantasize
For just awhile
About the things
That make a girl smile.

The wink he gave her
From across the hall
Or the smile they shared
Yesterday at the mall.

The quick kiss
He left on her cheek
The walk in the park
Holding hands last week.

The feeling she gets
When he laughs that way
The thought of seeing him
The very next day.

The look in his eyes
When he says I love you
The way her heart stops
When she realizes it's true.

The sight of his tears
As he watches her walk
The sweat on his palms
As the pastor begins to talk.

The taste of his lips
As he begins to die
The happiness she feels
For in her heart he does lie.

It's not so hard
It's not what you think
The path to her heart
Is not paved in mink.

She doesn't want diamonds
Or even need gold
What makes a girl smile
Is a hand to hold.
