Drowsily I open my eyes,
I wipe the sweat from my face,
God, what an awful nightmare,
I close my eyes,
And lean back against the wall,
Trying to remember the horrendous dream,
I remember the darkness,
Suffocating in its weight,
I remember the coldness,
Frostbite trying to exterminate,
I remember the soldiers,
Laughing as they fought to annihilate,
I remember the gunfire,
Bullets seeking to obliterate,
I remember the blood,
Soaking into the floor,
I remember the mothers,
Screaming in the furore,
I remember the fathers,
Shot down by dreaded chokebore,
I remember the families,
Torn apart by such gruesome law,
Again I open my eyes,
Survey the surrounding area,
Objects obscured by darkness,
Shivering with the cold,
Can hear faint laughter in the distance,
Constant gunfire making ground shake,
Can feel dampness under hand, blood,
See body’s drooped into blood,
Mothers, fathers, families no more,
This wasn’t a dream,
This was reality.

Ok, so this is a really wierd poem that kind of wrote itself, so no hard feelings if everyone hates it....I do.
