Morning Star

by Eden   Jun 1, 2005

I watch you from shadows across the street…
You are my child; so innocent and sweet…
I follow the scent of your footsteps…
Like a wolf I stalk you to your doorstep.
Every now and then you turn to look
Try to see into every niche and nook.
But I hide in the shadows awaiting our meeting…
…One that will be in life so fleeting.
Every night this is my ritual
Every night to me is spiritual.
Bury me? No…you.
This is my life…what next do I do?
Follow, follow, within the night
Where I step out into street’s light.
Grab a hold of your small arm…
I will win you over with charm.
You are my child…of that I am sure…
By blood and now by blood you’ll endure.
I look into your frightened eyes…
Please, you needn’t bear thine cries.
I’m your father…please, don’t you see?
This vampire’s pale face is me…it’s me.
I take in your beauty…yes, you are pretty
My hand to your neck, I can feel you are sweaty.
I bend my face down to whisper to ears
Take my thumb and wipe away your tears.
Saying to you, this is your next life…
Forget all the pain from my living wife.
Come be with me, I say to your heart
The tears stop streaming, I’ve given you a start.
I can feel your pulse beat in your flesh…
Soon infinity and you will mesh.
You try to speak, but no words will come…
I tell you “be calm…it will only hurt some.”
My lips to your neck…small child you are…
Always been my morning’s star.
Teeth puncture your little vein…
Only a fracture of a second of pain…
Then with my warm and deadly kiss…
A heavenly swirl of love and bliss.
You are mine and I am your own
My undead features I seek to clone.
Your hands grip my arm is such sweet alarm…
Soon you will not feel so in harm.
Blood has drained from your heart of existence
Your death was for me…and my persistence.
Soothingly I place my wrist…
“Drink my blood”…I silently assist.
You drink in my flavor
The new taste you savor
Now I have you for all time…
This is where I end my rhyme.
