Love's Cruel Adieu

by Orion   Jun 1, 2005

This is what I do
Day after day
To keep sane
In love's cruel adieu

I've loved and longed for many a girl
But none such as the one
Who plays my heartstrings now,
Fingers moving (playing) like a swirl

Now I sit here watching pensively
Knowing in my heart
This dear friend of mine and I
Are truly meant to be

But this feeling I have
I've felt it before
Turned out to be nothing
And like a fool I would end

God give me strength
Give me hope
Give me courage

But You already gave these to me
And yet I ask for more
All I want is a sunset
Silhouetted by myself, and she

there was more to this but it didn't flow...cheers folks

I like this poem a lot! It's sweet, and I can tell it's heartfelt. If it's meant to be, it will work out. if not, God has something; Someone better in store for you. Good things come to those who wait. be patient, and you'll get the one you love, and most of all deserve.
