I Confess..

I Confess
By: Keith MacKay

We've lived our lives together,
For thirteen long years,
We've went through our fathers deaths together,
We've cried solemn tears,

We've each got into fights,
We've said things out of rage,
But we'd apologized to each other,
Then friendship would engage,

We've each had our share of troubles,
In our undying eternal bond,
But we'd get through them:,
Find a way - to carry on,

We've told each other stories,
We've cried each others pain,
But this only brought us closer,
As each others love and trust we would gain,

This I told my friend,
It was her I thought my world,
She was the peace inside me,
She helped me through all I periled,

She replied with not words,
But with a smile on her face,
Her crystal blue eyes were sparkling in the twilight,
While we sat near the fireplace,

The fire was a blaze,
Orange yellow and red,
It danced off of her face and eyes,
Without her I think I'd be dead.

She began to speak,
Only with a stutter,
"I confess" she said,
But I heard just a mutter,

She climbed to her feet,
And she gazed upon me,
Still with the smile on her face,
And blue eyes sparkly,

"I love you" she said,
My eyes grew wide,
And she came closer to me,
Flattery I tried to hide,

She sat next to me,
Then put her lips to my ear,
"You complete me" she whispered,
With an eye filled with tear,

I remained quiet,
To hear what she had to say,
Her face turned red with embarrassment,
As on my shoulder her head lay,

We gazed at the fire,
For what seemed a long while,
Then I slowly spoke,
To end the silent trial,

"Your my world," I whispered,
"My stars, my moon,
My dreams, my hopes,
My silver spoon,"

"Your my green forests,
My lakes so blue,
Your my eyes, your my smell,
God! I love you,

Your my skies, your my clouds,
Your my fortune, my heart,
Your the love of my life,
Your my painting of art,

Your my thoughts, my diamonds,
Your my bitter sweet air,
Your my taste, your my mind,
You are my queen so fair,"

I whispered these things,
As I stared into her eyes,
Tears were streaming down her cheeks,
Upon her lips were happy cries,

*

Months later we were married,
And nine later we had a child,
Our anniversaries were filled with laugher,
Our emotions were set wild,

We'd roll and embrace on the carpet,
And kiss each other too,
I'd tell her how much I loved her,
And she'd know it all to true,

Nineteen months ago,
We were two lost friends,
And we did not know what happiness was,
Or that it was soon amongst our ends,

With two simple words,
She had made my life a dream,
A perfection only Gods know,
And she made my life supreme,

"I Confess",
