Numb

The melody, I cannot hear.

The whole thing just seems so unclear.

I no longer have control of my feet.

Are they even moving to the beat?

I never thought we'd stand so near.

I'm short on breath like I've run a mile.

I've wanted this all the while,

But oh my God, I feel so dumb!

My body has gone completely numb,

And I just can't seem to get over your smile.

I could melt when you speak to me.

Your face is just about all I can see.

My brain seems to have turned to paste.

Are those your hands on my waiste?

I beg time to stop with a silent plea.

Nothing else exists this fantasy world,

Till back to the real world I am hurled.

"Thanks," I smile. "No Problem," he said.

I turned away, blushing red.
