You Loved Me

by shadow walker   Jun 2, 2005

You carried me
nine months, that’s a long time,

You raised me
since into this world I entered,

You cared for and treated me
when I was sick as can be,

You taught me
almost everything you know,

You smiled for me
when my tears almost flowed,

You cried with me
when the tears would not be held back,

You laughed with me
when I need a friend,

You jumped with me
when the leap seemed far,

You ran with me
when my life sped up,

You put my feet under me
when all others pushed me down,

You walked for me
when in your arms I laid

and now

You cheer for me
as I walk from you arms of comfort and venture forth into a new chapter of life.

All these things are but definitions of one word
that you have shown me with abundance.
What I am trying to say is that

You loved me
when I was small and now as I am grown.

You loved me
when I was sick and healthy.

You loved me
when I was good and when I was bad.

You loved me
through hard times,
easy times,
fast times
and slow times.

You loved me
for my talents
and most of all for my faults.

Bottom line is that you love me.

The least I can do
is to express to you the way I fill
in the way I know best,
through my words

Mom, thanks for everything
from the bottom of my heart and soul.
I love you more than words can say.
Hugs and kisses
on this Mothers Day.
