Two Weeks

by kiesha   Jun 2, 2005

For two weeks, she listened to the rain.
She gently cried, she couldn't go through this again.
Her heart kept sending messages to her brain.
Not much longer could she endure the pain.

He had told her he loved her that cold winter night.
They were cuddled together beside the fire light.
She thought their love would take her to new heights,
That together they would soar higher than a kite.

Her friend tried to help her out like he should,
To keep her away from this boy of no good.
He would date her himself if only he could.
But of his undying love, she hadn't understood

Her boyfriend would beat her and verbally abuse,
But she wore long clothes to cover up every bruise.
She didn’t know why he did this, he had no excuse,
But he’d always apologize, and down the road they would cruise.

One day he finally knocked her completely out.
She couldn't fight back, she couldn't scream or shout.
As she lie there unconscious, he had no doubt,
That no one would find her lying about.

But her friend miraculously found her and cried.
He was so scared, he thought she had died.
On to the hospital, down the road he flied.
He swore from then on he would never leave her side.

Now then, there is no need for alarm,
She’s lying safely in her true lover’s arms.
She knows from now on she’ll be safe and warm.
Because of her friend turned lover, she’s away from all harm.

I really liked this poem. That's how I was with my ex, he raped me and my friend who was helping me through it all ended up liking me. Now we're dating but my ex keeps showing up. It's very complicated. Well I really liked it! I give a 5. Keep up the great work and hope to read some work from you soon!
