Lies Of Truth

by Poetic Tragedy08   Jun 2, 2005

Why do you look
And tell them those lies?
They're there to make you better
Not make you cry
It brings me down
To Know you might go
But a better life
No more feeling low
When your dad hits you
He hits me too
Now let them give you a better life
Let it be true
I know you'll have to leave
It'll make me cry
Deep inside
I'll slowly die
But I'll see you again
In a few years
Then will be a happy time
No more shedding tears
Tell them the truth
Let them see the pain in your eyes
Then temporarily
We'll say goodbye

I wrote this in January when I thought my g/f would have to go because the Social Workers would take her away from her dad.

This is so sad, and full of emotion. At some parts the flow becomes a little awkward like here:
    "To Know you might go
    But a better life
    No more feeling low"
    but overall very good.

I felt the emotion, for sure. The rhyming and flow could have been better, but the words and emotions made up for it. Nice job.
