Where are we standing right now
If you are lost and love is gone
What happened to those nights
Where we would talk till dawn

We once became close friends
But then things moved to fast
And now I am mad at myself
For I could have made it last

Voices controlled my head
I just brushed them all away
Because I wanted you with me
I still believed that you to stay

There were many nights I cried
Because I just refused to see
I knew that it would end soon
But I still prayed for it to be

It started out as a tiny flicker
Maybe even a small flame
But now it is all lost or gone
It all went down the drain

The voices never lied to me
And I knew they were right
But I wanted to give it a try
To believe with all my might

So now I ask these questions
To the one who I still adore
