Days Sink Spirits

by samuel   Jun 3, 2005

Some days sink our spirits
Sombreness and gloom dog our heels
We sigh in the evening
Sick with melancholy

We struggle against the bulwark
Askari\'s breastplate serves us for shield
The healing of our souls
Will bring relief

Sparing a thought for Harmattan\'s glow
And the hills above our heads
We see the birds as they call us to join
Their spirited flight

Lekeleke is our crony
We call to her in the sky
Give us white fingers we say
And we will give you black.
