The Political War

by Nick 198   Jun 3, 2005

Rising to the freedom
That we all never had
Everyone is dieing
It was just the new fad

Go to school
Then off to war
Fight for what is right
Only to be decimated
By the rising enemy
That we fought against
To see if we would ever be free
But no thrown in lines like slaves
Do what we tell you or die
Live the life you never had
Live for unity
Live for freedom
Live the life you have
Whether your head gets on the gun
Or you walk away with life
Living in the back of your head
The memories of your knife
Just shredding threw the flesh
As the blood runs warm over your hand
That’s when you notice
That just killed a man

But its ok they tell you
You did it in time of war
War against whom
Your hate
Your crimes
Your greediness
All for what
Blood stained hands
Memories of the past
Death destruction and war
In remembrance of your life
Know for who you killed and what you killed
Is that who you really are
Is that who you want to be
Is that what you want to do
Kill for a living
Innocence is the first casualty
And you’re perusing a dream
Not of your own
But of the political war you’re standing for
So go ahead and waste your life
While they tell you you’re doing something right
When in the end you notice that you’re the one that lost the fight
As your body lays stale
Inside the cold dirt
The guns will go off
But for what you did
And not for whom you are
