A Bound Love

She's content
but only for awhile
When she sees his
"Can i stay" smile

She thinks she's free
but she's still bound
The life she had haunts her
every time he comes around

I try to make her listen
but she just ignores
He's trying to win, his way back in
like all the times before

He drinks until he's tired
then asks her if he can stay
And of course she wont deny him
and says it is OK

How can she be nice?
even after all his shit
How can she bare the pain?
of the memories of her getting hit

I don't understand
and probably never will
But it will drive me crazy wondering
why she loves him still
