Lifeless

She'd always cut her pain away
hoping one day she'd die
she would tell me she was OK
but I always knew it was a lie
she would hurt herself
trying to forget her pain
she'd slide the bade across her wrists
trying to hit every vein
she was tired of living
so she might as well bring it to an end
she had a broken life
that would never mend
she had tried to die before
but I didn't want her to be like me
she just wanted to die
that she just wanted me to see
another suicide attempt
another miserable day
I couldn't just let her go
and let her be on her way
she would just wait you all out
she could outlast you
she just wanted her pain to go away
forget all that she's been put through
she had a plan
she'd wait till you would leave
she'd tell you she was fine that day
that's what she'd let you believe
she was miserable every day
but she knew how to lie
she was tired of the sleepless nights
and the times she would cry
she had cut too many times
to the point her scars wouldn't fade
not that her memories
would make her drop her blade
you might have thought she was happy then
but it was all an act
she had thousands of death plans
and that is a fact
her smiles were fake
but her tears were real
she just needed to talk to someone
and tell them how she feels
she tried to overdose on pills
she tried to hang herself too
she wanted to die so bad
and she always thought you knew
she tried to jump off a bridge
she even tried to smash her head in the wall
she knew she'd never get back up
if she'd ever once again fall
her life had fallen apart
what she was doing in her spare time you never would have known
she wanted to run away
and never come back home
she was already dead to the world
you knew she was dead inside
every night she had ending results
that she knew she'd have to hide
she was finally going to do it
she was going to die that night
she had already given up
she could no longer fight
she had everything planned out
she came home and wrote you a letter
telling you of her pain
that life without her would be better
you came in her room before you left
and gave her, her final kiss
she would die while you're at work
but you'd be the only person she'd miss
she signed the note and left it on her desk
then she took out the knife
this was the day
that she would finally take her life
she cut and she cut
and out came the blood
she kept going
and soon there was a flood
she started to get light headed
but still she didn't quite
she knew that what she was doing was wrong
and that I'm sure she would admit
she quickly took out a piece of paper
and scribbled sorry for the mess
she knew you'd be upset
but she cut until she was lifeless
so yeah she used to be suicidal
but she's not anymore
because now her body
lay lifeless on the floor...
