Widow's Mite (revised)

by samuel   Jun 4, 2005

Alas for the widow's mite
That which Christ adjudged
Valuable over the wealth of the rich
Proverbial coin
Reminds us of the perennial nature of
Poverty
Who cares for a widow's mite!
Give me many dollars
Even if I give a pinch of it
Give me houses
Even if I lie in only one bed
Give me stores crammed full
With earthly bounties
I am not a widow
And I hope not to be one.
