The Word in Prints

by Michael D Nalley   Jun 5, 2005

If you don’t know the most important words that are in print,
May I give you a gentle reminder, a subtle hint?
The words that are printed the most are the least read
Many think they are useless, many think they are dead

But the Bible is God’s holy living personal word
It needs to be read, and understood, so it can be heard
You may say how can these words that were written so long ago
Proclaim the personal salvation of my eternal soul?

The word is eternal. Sometimes it comes to us within
The Holy Spirit pursues even when we run to sin
The word admonishes us to let our Savior in
That is the only way that a loser can ever win

How many ways can anyone arrange words to get this simple message across?
I‘m just a poet. I know I’m not a winner if I’m acting like the boss
Though I think I understand, I am still running from the cross
Yet I know if I manage to escape, that will be my eternal loss

I’m just a lonely poet trying to share
The beautiful words, which come through
From the Holy Spirit, I know He does care,
To send the Lord’s message of love to you

I loved the poem, although I don't agree much with you, so this targets me well. But keep up the great work. 5
