No one ever knew

by No1ButMe   Jun 5, 2005

No one loved her
Thought she was just too different
They never bothered to talk to her
Right past her they went
She could be found sitting alone
Hiding behind her mask
No one wondered what was wrong with her
No they didn’t even ask
She always wore sweaters
Just to hide the scars she made
Things would just get worse
And she would never let them fade
She cried silent tears
But they were falling down her cheeks
No one even looked her way
It had been this way for weeks
No one saw her in class
No one saw her at all
No one was there to catch her
When she would fall
No one knew about the abuse
That she went home to
She was a really sweet girl
But no one ever knew
No one knew of her past
Or that her life was falling apart
No one knew what he did to her
And that she had a broken heart
No one knew of all the pain
That she held inside
No one knew of the cuts
That she thought she had to hide
No one knew of the attempts
Or the poems she was always writing
No one knew she had given up
That she was done fighting
No one knew of the pills
That was the only was she got joy
No one knew of her fear
To once again be treated like a toy
No one knew of the rope burns
Of when she tried to take her life
No one knew that her only friend
Was her trusty knife
No one knew of the gun
That she once held to her head
No one knew of the sleepless night
Those nights that she would just cry in bed
No one knew of the nightmares
That she couldn’t bear
No one knew of her life
And how it wasn’t fair
No one knew what she did after school
And no one wanted to know
Love for this depressed girl
No one would ever show
No one knew of her dreams
Or what she liked to do
No, no one knew her
And they never cared to
No one knew her story
And no one ever would
No one ever got to know this girl
They never did what they could
She could be found smiling
But they were always fake
For the truth is a frown
Was all she would really make
She would talk to people
But they never seemed to talk back
She was once upon time happy
But her world was tainted black
People always called her weird
Labeled her a freak
She may have appeared strong
But inside she was weak
She ignored them at that moment
But took the pain out on herself
She would go home
And pull that knife off the shelf
One day it went too far
She could handle it anymore
She would take her pain away
That night she ended up on the floor
She ended up killing herself
She was tried of what they were putting her through
She died that night
And no one ever knew…
