This Is Life

by Lucy D1am0nd   Jun 5, 2005

Open your eyes, what do you see?
Lies, deceit and immaturity.
You could get hurt, you could get raped,
No one cares in a world full of hate.

Drugs, sex and suicide,
Are just some of the effects of having a good time.
All fun and games until someone dies
I'm so sick of a world full of lies.

A 14 year old can get pregnant so easy,
And if her friends find out, they'll all think she's sleazy
But when her friends do it, then it's not a crime,
So what, if you were drunk at the time.

Death, murder, sadness, pain
No one cares if I go insane
I'm just another face in the crowd
Who wants to scream and shout out loud

Who wants to be heard, not left alone,
Just feels so wrong, this house is not a home.
No more silence, listen to me scream!
Please stop trying to crush my self-esteem

Please I need help, but not psychology,
I think I might die now, I think that you hate me.
But why let it get to me?
It's getting other people down too.
The answer is death, death tells the truth.

I love it. Hopefully you read this and aren't another suicide cause like you mentioned in your poem. Your right about a lot though. Thanks for keeping it real. I love your poem, but hey hang in there. I've been to the brink of suicide myself but there always something holding me back. You need to identify with what that is and embrace it. Your a great poet. Look forward to some more of your work.
