It was a horrible day

by Timothy   Jun 5, 2005

She was lively,
Such a beautiful child;
Wanting to enjoy life,
Never taking any experience for granted, extravagant or subtly mild.

She never spoke a harsh word,
Always reaching out to help family and strangers in need;
She held no prejudice for anyone,
Everywhere she went, planting a generous seed.

It was a horrible day,
But for one day, within this horrendous town, not a foul word was spoken;
Instead, everyone united in a prayer for her,
The day the angel's wings were eternally broken.
