You told me to come back one day
and i believed your every word
i believed that youd really come back
and i would once more be your girl

but the days passed
and my hope began fading
should i give up and let go
or continue waiting

i decided to hold on
until that very day
i saw you holding the hand of another girl
i couldnt help to feel so betrayed

my heart hurt so much
the dream i held onto shattered in front of my eyes
but on that very day
i did finally realize

id be much better off without you
i could finally see the truth
you only did me wrong
now its time for me to make it through

i picked up my broken heart
lying on the floor
and decided not to blind
myself anymore

on that day i finally let you go
no more waiting all day long
let the sunshine in
it was time for me to move on

i felt so free
from the heavy load that i carry
id no more be waiting
in sorrow and weary
