The Land of Limbo

by Insane Inside And Out   Jun 6, 2005

There is a place between heaven and hell that even demons hate to roam.

It is where newly fallen angels land.
To find the way to Earth before the
Devil finds them is their plan.
Although some plans are to die or
just lay for eternity in a bed of ashy sand.

In this place it's always
pouring ice cold rain.
From the ground to the sky
you only see shades of grey.
The ground is full of
ash, mud, and stone.
Sometimes you'll stumble
across a pile of bones.
Besides an occasional cry
of anguish from a lost soul
you're always traveling alone.

Never will you see it change
from dawn to dusk, day to night.
The chances of escaping to
hell or Earth can be slight.
How quickly time goes by
you'll never be able to know.
It may be centuries later
if you manage to escape
but the time seemed to
pass by agonizingly slow.

What is this place, this dimension
where lost souls, new fallen
angels, and demons go?
It is the grey land of Limbo.

Im incredibly impressed, I think this is possibly one of your best poems. Somehow it's really deep and disturbing and perhaps even highly metaphorical. Keep writing poems for me to share :)
