Madame Urchin

by EpithetPoet   Jun 6, 2005

An ancient shopping bag in hand
A nest of creatures in straw hair
Living every day a modern urchin
Seemingly ignorant without a care

This woman has more than most
More than some will ever acheive
She has a heart filled with passion
More love for life than you could believe

And as every 'angst' ridden teen
Suffers their own pestilence of life
This woman walks every day proud
Never complaining of her own strife

Head up high in broken heels
Face smiling with wrinkled contortion
While rest of the world wages on
With issues of wars and abortion

Walking down the pavement
Showing all her toothless grin
Makes you wonder when you'll find
Enough poverty for life to begin

You deffinatley have a unique style of writing hun.
This poem is spot on the mark; as many do walk along in sufferance but 'never complain of their strife'.

    Kudos to you sweetie,

the beautiful character of this woman is beyond depressing and reaching. this poem is beyond avid and unique - it is, to say the least, fantastic in every line.

it is so unbelievably sad... yet her seclusion. the smile without teeth. her existance in spite of others. her sorrow never expressed. amazing. so amazing. your best yet - if i might so inquire to say.

beyond fantastic and amazing spliced together.
