Today, i met a rose.

by Sean   Jun 7, 2005

Hello empty space of my room,
If you'd care to listen..
I met a rose today,
delicate in shape and tender in beauty,
glinting of red, ginger, blond streaked petals.

I held it softly in my hands,
still rooted to the soil...
the metaphoric mother.
One day,
I'll take that rose with me,
place it in a pot of my own....

Today, like a lot of days,
I went to visit the rose at the same park,
the same place, at the same times.
Spent so long with a rose,
the quiet moments I spend,
just gazing into it's beauty....
While i am sure,
if a rose was to speak....
it'd ask me 'what?'

Maybe, I've fallen in love with a rose,
and when i stare deeply into her, the rose,
all I feel is love, and want to remain transfixed in beauty,
yes, I did meet a rose today,
and one day, yes...one day I'll offer it a pot,
and a place at my bedside,
just until,
i can convince the soil,
to give up such a perfect little rose,
the name I'd give it?

Tracie.

"and one day, yes...one day I'll offer it a pot, "

Such a good line, metaphoric, visualistic and expressive.

    Another good effort mate.

    (4am, can't express myself properly!)
