A rescued soul

by Gem   Jun 7, 2005

She held back her tears,
And crawled under her bed.
To block out the fears,
Gathering in her head.

It was the same every night,
Loud bangs and raised voices.
In the day it was all right,
There was no need for choices.

There was banging on her door,
Followed by an angry shout.
She put her hands over her ears,
And pretended she was out.

She didn't understand,
Why her daddy hated her so.
He woulds always hit her,
Even when she screamed out no!

She could hardly wait,
For her life to come to an end.
Cos she knew that only then,
Her mind and heart would mend.

Suddenly her door,
Flew open with a thud.
She didn't understand,
She always acted good.

Her daddy dragged her out,
And he began to yell.
She quickly closed her eyes,
Against her living hell.

She knew that once again,
She'd be covered in bruises.
Once again another battle,
Where everybody loses.

She tried to see through her tears,
As her world began to fade.
'Please', She silently begged,
'Let my soul be saved'.

That night that poor girl died,
With a smile on her face.
Finally her soul was rescued,
Moved on to a better place.
