Fear

by Dead As Yesterday   Jun 7, 2005

I saw a beautiful flower amidst a sea of crabby grass
The only way to reach it was across miles of broken glass
My bleeding soul in taters as I made my way across
I knew in my heart I must reach it or everything was lost

You opened up so sweetly and sang to me your name
You changed me in so many ways I’ve never been the same
The blooming of your petals so pink and full of grace
Left me standing speechless with just a smile upon my face

My emotions running rampant this flower is all I see
This one rose is my life and means everything to me
To behold such beauty with my eyes is more than I can bear
To spend my life beside you and show you how much I care

The sunlight shone down upon us on that very special day
I begged for the moon and the stars to always let me stay
Your beauty so enchanting and your soul so sweet and dear
Watching that pretty flower turn away is everything I fear
