Rubber Band

by Cowboy-4-a-City-Girl   Jun 7, 2005

She sits alone on the floor,
In the hallway by the door.
Watching two lovers across the way,
Thinking back to another day.

Nose to nose, hand in hand,
Like they were held with a rubber band.
She kissed him once, he kissed her back,
Her man, her boyfriend, her lover Jack.

She thought I’m just a girl with another dream,
Of love as sweet as vanilla whip cream.
There has to be someone there for me,
She walked down the hall and there was he.

He sat alone on the floor,
In the hallway by the door.
Watching the two lovers across the way,
Thinking back to another day.

Nose to nose, hand in hand,
Like they were held with a rubber band.
She kissed him once, he kissed her back,
Her man, her boyfriend, her lover Jack.

He thought I’m just a boy with another dream,
Of love as sweet as a coaster that makes you scream,
There has to be someone there for me,
He walked down the hall and there was she.

In the hallway they met in the middle,
He was very tall, she was very little.
As she smiled he noticed her braces,
When he smiled there were no other faces.

Nose to nose, hand in hand,
Like they were held with a rubber band
It’s as sweet as a steel drum band.
Or Being lost in Candy Land.

They fell in love, just like a dream,
Of love as sweet as vanilla whip cream…
As a roller coaster that makes you scream…
How sweet does love to you seem?
