Once I Was Told

by Mark Coates   Jun 8, 2005

Once I was told,
That I was loved,
And always would be,
That no matter what I was told,
I was to believe that.

Once I was told,
That I was worthless,
I didn't deserve to live,
That I was a mistake,
That I deserved to diie.

Once I was told,
Nobody cares about me,
That I was alone,
In this world,
That I shoould die.

Once I was told,
I slit my wrists,
Cos I'd run out of paper,
That it was all fake,
That I was a liar.

Once I was told,
That things would get better,
Now I'm told,
That I'm an attention seeker,
Now I'm told.

Lol and the problem with that is? Nothin wrong with seeking a bit of attention. X

I like it, but the 2nd and 3rd stanza are perhaps a bit too similar (esp the last line in each)...and also:

    "That I shoould die."

Have an extra "o" in there ^

The poem is pretty upsetting. True emotions brought out well though....Nice repetition for the most part.
