What Are You Waiting For

What Are You Waiting For

Weeks of planning, every detail has to be perfect
What you’ll need, when you’ll do it, how you’ll do it
All worked out and stored in your mind
Down to the final minutes now, D day is here
Staring intently into the mirror, taking one last look
But the questioning begins, Do I? Do I not?
Will it hurt? Will they cry? Will they understand?
A quick slap to the face and a shot of vodka
Harden up girl, don’t chicken out now
Fcuk the world; This is your life, Your decision
They don’t know what you’ve been through
They don’t know that this pain is killing you
You’ve left your reasons, your explanation
Its all there in your carefully thought out letter
There’s nothing left to do but tie the knot
Climb up high to the designated area, your chosen spot
Attach the end tightly, give it a tug, and make sure it’ll hold
You don’t want to fcuk it up after all that planning
Slip your head inside the loop, let it embrace your neck
Pretend it’s that hug you’ve always longed for but never received
Leap forward like you mean it, like you truly want this
Now your dangling, the floors close but still to far to save you
Gasping for air, thrashing your legs, fingers clawing
But its hugging you too tightly, you can’t escape the love it brings
My advice don’t fight it, give in to its warmth, let it take you over
Oxygen’s nearly gone, eyes are bulging, your bodies shutting down
Scarred up wrists, clawed at neck, grey tinged skin, blue lips
No movement, complete silence, the deed is done
So what are you waiting for, take that leap towards happiness
Free your body and fly tonight…
