Bound by mutilation

Happiness is only a short illusion
Drowned out by memories of pain
Days in the sun, where life was enjoyable
Are easily snuffed out by days in the rain

Dwelling on aspects that cannot be changed
Longing for somewhere to go
Erase all of the good times, forget all the laughs
Tears trickling from eyes that only see the low

Sugar coated dreams are pulled from the sky
Deleted and locked in the past
Shallow silver knives, white heat ripping through
Words of terror etched into broken panes of glass

Sadness overwhelms every part of the soul
Resistance against depression is to no avail
Broken, shattered smiles mixed with agonized howls
Always missed the boat when happiness sailed

Passionate sunsets, red a colour of love
Become bloodstains and shallow defeats
The sky becomes mocking with echoes of hate
Breaking up with the burden of hells sweltering heat

Rainbows and flowers a mirage in the mind
Wilting away every day, all the time
Summer is the enemy spitting malice and spite
Winter is a release of the shadows locked behind

Extracting the kisses with these paper thin tears
Slipping below barriers into deep hibernation
Whispers on the wind become shouts of self hatred
Armed with depression, bound by mutilation
