Look down into this water.
Within, you'll see yourself.
A special person with unique qualities,
and personality unlike anyone else.

Your eyes have seen what you once were,
and the person you've now become.
Use this sight in seeing your future,
but forget not where you came from.

Your mind is quick, you have knowledge
of many different things.
So be cautious on the path ahead,
you'll never know what it brings.

Your ears have heard all sorts of words,
Some sweet, some hurtful lies.
But even foolishly spoken thoughts
have helped to make you wise.

Your mouth has spoken educated thoughts,
all who listen hear.
Say what you mean and mean what you say;
Always be sincere.

Your heart is great, full of love
and has a kind hand in affection.
Forgiving and compassionate,
Unafraid of challenge or rejection.

This poem is a reflection of you
and all the things you are.
Add onto them throughout life's journey;
You've already come far.
