Left Behind

by Ashley Redden   Jun 10, 2005

The darkest moment of twilight
A traveler experiences the characters of the ocean
With the white hands of the waves
Reaching to touch the sand
And the footprints left behind
As he walks alone in the hours of the night
Hes left empty
Not a soul to save em now
The effaced memories that was left behind
And the loved ones he had to leave
But for a better chance of life
That he thought he'd have
While laying there watching the stars
As the waves come in
He looks to the sky
As he talks to god
He never gets an answer
But he never questions why
But locked in the moment
All the things that matters left his mind
And all he could think about
Was running out to sea
To capture the one thing he wanted most
The white hands of the waves
Still reaches out to touch the sand
And the footprints of the traveler
Are still left behind
Just one set where he was alone and empty
And not a soul around to save em
When the effaced memories were all left behind
