Living in a Shadow

She was living in a shadow,
of someone else's dream
She was always ignored,
as if she couldn't be seen.

She was always compared,
to her beautiful sibling,
for she had the voice of an angel,
and being pretty was her thing.

her sister was always clean and neat,
her, on the other hand was messed,
she was sick of being in her shadow,
she was sick of being second best.

everything she did was just good enough
every night she was full of sorrow
she would cry, and wait,
wait for tomorrow.

but she had waited enough
she couldn't take it anymore
she was sick of smiling fake smiles
and pretending to laugh like before

one night she creeped out,
and grabbed the rope from the laundry shed,
she hung herself, killed her soul
next morning, she was found dead.

in her cold, lifeless hands,
was a message she had wrote
"No more living in her shadow"
said the messy note

She was living in a shadow,
her life had gone wrong,
she was always second best,
and now shes gone.
