Tin Soldiers

by Gem   Jun 10, 2005

Tin soldiers cry in the night
As you try to sleep.
Souls made of metal
All hurt the same as you.
Every one is scared of what
Hides in the depths of the dark.

In the day they stand strong,
Ready to fight the world.
But when the day is done
And the sun goes down,
They cower in the darkness
Just like you.

You are the general of an army
Built on fear of life.
Each tin soldier clutching hope
Of the ballerina doll.
Not brave enough to die.
Not brave enough to live.
