Screams

Way up high
On a balcony
The two, they fought
Unmercifully

I heard her scream
And cry out in pain
The man with her
What’s he going to gain?

I’m a deer in headlights,
And what should I do?
I’m helpless to save her
I haven’t even a clue

One last scream from her
It’s drawn out long
The last sound from her lips
Is a blood choked song

I look up to catch her
With the corner of my eye
His all-senseless action
Has caused a maiden to die

Her beautiful face
Is forever cold
Her crimson stained hands
Over her stomach, fold

I rush to her side
To catch her exhale,
Revenge I’ll bring this stranger
I just cannot fail

Sprinting the stairs
I burst through the door
To see the predator
Passed out on the floor

I’m at the door,
But at the same time
I was the one that pushed her
I must avenge my own crime
