Hopeless (NONET)

by Amanda Bee   Jun 11, 2005

Can you not see that I adore you?
I’m hopelessly living for you
But you simply walk away
And leave me standing here
In the doorway of
Your selfish heart
Praying you’ll
Come for
Me

*A nonet has nine lines. The first line has nine syllables,
the second line eight syllables, the third line seven
syllables, etc... until line nine that finishes with one
syllable. It can be on any subject and rhyming is optional.
line 1 - 9 syllables
line 2 - 8 syllables
line 3 - 7 syllables
line 4 - 6 syllables
line 5 - 5 syllables
line 6 - 4 syllables
line 7 - 3 syllables
line 8 - 2 syllables
line 9 - 1 syllable

I love this... its short, but sweet, and contains alot of emotion.. you are good at putting alot of that, into such a short phrase... its also leaves you thinking... well keep up the good work!

Nonets are the best type of poem. i love this, because unlike other nonets i've read, you can read it once and get everything, all the lines connect to each other. Very nice

Love the poem, it's a nice nonet, i just learned how to make those not to long ago and at least for me i thought that they were kind of a challenge. you did a lovely job with the poem. i too also love the door way line like holly. and also to let you know the butterfly icon in your profile is also very beautiful!
