Joyful Night

by Lithium   Jun 12, 2005

Alone and cold on the streets of a broken dream,
A child wishes for her daddy to find some hope,
She sits and waits outside in the world so mean,
Not knowing how in her following years how she’ll cope,

Her daddy returns with nothing but a word,
This word she has know ever since she learnt how to fight,
Her daddy opened his mouth and said,
I’m sorry honey we can’t eat tonight,

Deep down she just wants to cry but she’s been taught,
To hide everything she feels inside,
Missing her mum she begins to cry because she never thought,
She’d live out her life by the gutter outside,

“Father please tell me the story of the little girl how found,
Her mother and the baby brother she never meet about,
How happiness inside and an ever lasting frown,
Turned into a smile she would never live without,

Hush little baby don’t cry now,
Daddy’s going to bring you an angel this night,
Go to sleep now my baby girl cry your tears I will allow,
Just remember when you wake up to head towards the joyful light.
