A Poem For Over-Comers

by Heather Atchley   Oct 17, 2003

Dreams fade before our eyes
And goals move out of reach
And we feel the urge to quit
But life has more to teach
The end is not here, today
There’s still such life to live
You are not done just yet
There’s still much more to give.
We’ve yet begun to live
When everything goes wrong
Because, that is the time
We find that we grow strong.
Overcoming those obstacles
Which seem so impossible
Gives a brand new hope
That anything is possible.
We can build more dreams
Upon those that are gone
We will not be finished
Until our battle’s won.
Hold to the hope inside
That tells us to move on
Because that hope is all
That’s left when all seems gone.
