CRUSH YA!

by Wintersolstice   Jun 12, 2005

I remember my first crush,
It lasted six months in all,
From that first buzzing rush,
To the high peak then the fall.

We rarely talked but I liked you,
I felt familiar warmth when you would smile,
But I knew in my heart love was not true,
I just fancied you for a while.

I really know what love is now,
I can't have him; it haunts me every day,
But if I see you again somehow,
I will be careful off what I say.

You changed a lot over the years,
Into a bit of a so-called Chav,
I killed the feelings just in time I fear,
I don't regret that you I will never have.

I have seen you twice this year past,
You looked almost the same,
We did not speak when we met last,
We refused to play life’s game.

Once calm, quiet and placid,
You became someone else I believe,
Now your mean and as brash as acid,
As far as I can perceive.

So forgive me my first crush,
If I don’t shed a tear or sigh,
I got over that first rush,
And I bid you now, goodbye.

Different from some of your other pieces, but in a positive way. This poems seemed to maintain good rhythm and flow throughout.
